SCIENCE PROJECT INFORMATION


Below you will find specifics for the science project. If your project is going to possible include animals, tissue samples, or human subjects, you will need to go to the following web page document and print and fill out the forms in the Science And Engineering Project Guidelines located at this link.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Can we work with a partner? Answer: Yes, but no more than three total people in a group. If they are in a different teacher's class, you are still responsible for meeting all deadlines and submissions for Mrs. Stotts' class.

2. Does it have to be chemistry related? Answer: No, just science related and an appropriate topic.

Science Project Requirement: One of the requirements for this course is a semester long science project. The project will consist of five distinct steps (with appropriate deadlines for each):

1. Project Topic Approval - TBD

2. Research Paper - TBD

3. Report Part 1 (ONE PER GROUP)-Use the template given below and include the following, making sure to print it and bring a hard copy to class: - TBD

  • Title page
  • Purpose
  • Hypothesis
  • Variables
  • Materials
  • Procedure

4. Final Project PRESENTATION (ONE PER GROUP)-See the document below for the assignment instructions. You can use PowerPoint or any other presentation type program that interests you. It should be uploaded to Google Classroom by TBD.

5. Completed Project - TBD

  • One per group!
  • A full size (minimum 20" x 30" ) printed copy of your Project Poster (See templates below)

For about $5 you can submit a high resolution JPEG or PNG file of your poster through a google classroom assignment and I can have the CNUSD print shop print your poster.


Poster Clarification

-The Introduction is where your info from your research points, Problem and Hypothesis are included.

​-Methods section is your Procedure

-These get printed just like if you were getting a poster size picture of a digital photo you liked, so you could hang it up.

-Glue your poster to a flat piece of foam board or cardboard that has a little stand in the back so that these can stand on their own.
